The State of Kansas Treasurer's office 'outlaws' or 'voids' any check that is still outstanding after one (1) year from the issue
date on the face of the document.
The claimant (employee) must complete a form AR-95, Claim for Warrant Canceled One Year After Date of Issuance.
The claimant must submit the completed form to the Central Services Team of the Division of Accounts and Reports.
Confirmed claims are processed and a charge of the lesser of 10% of the original net check amount or $30 is calculated. The net amount is paid only if greater than $5 which is the statutory authority for payment.
